Admittedly, I’m only peripherally familiar with the character, but the figure is a welcome addition to the Marvel Legends villains’ ranks. He uses the same body as the Red Skull with a different right hand, a red claw-like gauntlet I believe comes straight from the comics (in concept if not design).
The head sculpt is has some good detail on it, and has an stern, threatening expression rather than the slightly constipated look some baddies get these days. It’s hard to do a good monocle in a sculpt like this, but they succeed passably here; it looks a bit more like a monocle than a half dollar stuck in his eye (the latter most often being the case on such characters).
This is another case of the Biz using a very well applied wash on areas of the figure; it serves as shading without looking like the aftermath of a mud bath. From what I’ve heard, the Baron never actually wore this exact outfit, but it is the sort of thing he might opt for if the occasion arose. Regardless, with the addition of the glove, the green color and the paint job, he doesn’t scream “Repaint!” even in proximity with the Skull. Giving us a technical repaint that’s actually a distinct character never done in figure form before is something the Biz deserves some kudos for here, especially with the Skull and the Baron being evenly packed.
