holy :censored:!!!!

Johnston has conformed that the invaders will play a PROMINENT role in the Cap movie and that the Red Skull will indeed be the villian.

heres your chance James Cameron......you claim you want to do an Atlantis movie BADLY.use Sub Mariner and not Aquaman

That rocks! Big Time Rocks! Best news I've read about the Cap movie yet.

The next announcement is who will play Cap, and the rest of the Invaders.

I had wondered would they feature the Invaders to springboard a Sub Mariner movie but never dreamed it would happen.James Cameron has stated publicly he would LOVE to tackle one of the Atlantis Superheroes whoever brings it to him first in fact.looks like Marvel is bucking forward with this news.

wonder who will play the rude and arrogant Namor?

meanwhile DCs Aquaman project lurks in development hell along with several other properties that should have been green light and cast already.

The Rock might be a good choice. I know folks will laugh at that, but I could see him in the role-especially if it would spring to a Namor solo movie.

I dont see the Rock being in consideration.I think his star has fallen substantially in Hollywood.

I actually dislike it when a character is changed too much from the source material.Namor isnt Samoan and for me that will have to stay that way.

A nice nod to the fans, and I think a good direction to go. Sets up the team notion for Avengers.

Marvel seems to be doing things right with their movies. Maybe Green Lantern will get a fire under Warner Brothers to do what Marvel's been doing well the past several years...

yknow something Scott?I would love that.but I dont think DC/WB who havea clear cut advantage in this dept(you would think)are capable of this.

has everyone heard the explanation for Caps costume?

according to Johnston everything will happen as per the comics until the miltary decide they can afford to lose him as their ONLY super soldier and they use him as a performer in the USO(against his will obviously)

then obviously something happens that gets Cap into the war and his popularity with the troops is such that they cant hold him back.

this makes sense to me as it explains the costume.

I like this storyline

I agree on both counts, Scott. The team dynamic gets put into play with the Invaders, giving fans a glimpse of the future with the Avengers films.

I'd love to see DC/WB doing something that would make their films like this, especially given the Superman reboot coming under Nolan. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

My guess is that Cap as a symbol on the USO tour inspires the troops so much that the Red Skull is set in to take him out. This sets up the feud between them, and enables Cap to go all out in the war, since he's now been attacked himself.
